Study techniques that have been found to be effective in boosting learning and retention.

There are several unusual study techniques that have been found to be effective in boosting learning and retention. While not all techniques work equally well for everyone, trying out different approaches can help you discover what works best for you. Here are some unusual study techniques worth considering: Spaced Repetition : This technique involves reviewing information at gradually increasing intervals over time. It is based on the principle that spaced out practice enhances long-term retention. Tools like Anki or Quizlet can help you implement spaced repetition effectively. Pomodoro Technique : This technique involves breaking your study sessions into shorter, focused bursts of intense concentration, typically around 25 minutes, followed by a short break. This method helps improve focus and prevent burnout. Explaining to Others : Teaching or explaining a concept to someone else is an effective way to reinforce your own understanding. Mind-mapping : Use the whiteboard to create a mind map of a topic you're studying. Start with a central idea and branch out with related concepts, using different colors and arrows to connect them. 2. Formulas and equations : If you're studying math or science, a whiteboard is perfect for practicing formulas and equations. You can easily erase and start over until you've mastered the concept. 3. To-do lists : Use the whiteboard to create a to-do list of tasks you need to complete for an upcoming exam or project. As you finish each task, cross it off the list. 4. Mnemonic devices are memory aids that help you remember information.  They work by associating the information with something else that's easier to remember.  Here are a few examples: Acronyms : These are words formed from the first letter of each word in a list. For example, to remember the order of operations in math (parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction), you can use the acronym PEMDAS. Rhymes : Rhymes can be used to remember lists of words or phrases. For example, "i before e, except after c, or when sounding like 'ay' as in neighbor and weigh." Acrostics : These are sentences where each word starts with the first letter of a list of words you're trying to remember. For example, to remember the planets in order from the sun, you can use the acrostic "My very eager mother just served us ...
